but im still not sure i even need a dedicated of my own to run a single reign of kings server, would i?

 

Start small with a shared game hosting server by someone like gameservers or deinserverhost. This way you can build up your server population before spending the money on a dedicated.

 

i have a 30 player average server on a gameserver hosted by bluefang already. but there seems to be lag often, is it my dedicated or just the reign of kings? cus bluefang thinks is reign of kings.

You can rent one of these VPS Clouds from OVH. This is what I use currently (VPS Cloud 2) to run my test servers.
No lag and you have complete access to a Fresh Copy of Microsoft Server 2012.

Just remember, if you do go this route, you will need open up the ports in the firewall.

Google can help with this if you do not know how.

 

Well my server runs great with 25 or less people on it, but when i get above that it's insane the amount of lag that happens sometimes.
