This is great. Couple things that could really make it easier to use is the ability to use partial player names. Right now you have to type the exact name including a clan tag if they are on a server running clans and the whole name needs to be surrounded by quotes. Also it would be cool if when you insult someone you get to see what it said to them too, or even better everyone sees it. Nice work though

 

I'll get on that right now, I thought I tested it but I only tested with the first part of the name which works e.g. /insult spi.

 

Well we run the clans plugin so that must be what's confusing it if they have a clan tag added from that plugin. Stll fun though. Also when you get insulted would be cool if it told you who sent it.

Where can I find the list of insults? I would like to add/edit/remove insults from the list.

 

Unfortunately, you can't. They're all stored in a read-only website. If you'd like to make your own list, on the other hand, go for it.

I meant that you could remove the functionality of getting the insults from the website completely and get them from a list instead.
If you simply want to remove insults, you could add a switch case statement that checks if the insult matches the one you want to remove and then remove it.

However, I would instead like to request the functionality from you as the mod author to:

1. Have the list of insults in the config to allow for editing/removal/addition OR
2. Allow the config to bypass using this read only site, to tell the plugin to use the config and the insults you create in it.

If you'd like to know why, here's a general reason.

I use BetterChat to filter chat. I don't want to run this mod if I can't know what it will say. If this mod contradicts the words I have filtered or goes over a line that I've set in BetterChat it won't make much sense.

As the admin of my community, I'd like to decide where that line is and as it currently stands I don't have any way to do that and I'm not interested in being a plugin author. I would probably disable the mod before I edited it.

 

Doesn't ChatFilter use OnPlayerChat? I don't think it interferes with rust.SendChatMessage as the server doesn't count as a player. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Regardless, I will be adding functionality to make your own insults but I'm currently working on other projects of mine as well. I'll add it to the to-do list but I'll do what's already on there first.

 

I think you're right that it may filter it out. I'm not sure.
