1. Hey guys,

The last time I installed oxide was way long ago and when I download it now there are lots of file differences between then and now .

What should I do once i actually download oxide? I already created a bat file and the app_update 258550 in steam cmd. Everytime I open it up it's still a normal server

    Please help,

Screenshots would also help to please.

    Attached Files:

  2. download oxide and open it
Copy the folder that is in there into the root dir of your server folder. (rust dedicated Data)
You should have the same folder in there.Just let it overwrite.
    Its as easy as that

Remember if u update your rust server - u need to update oxide as well.

Make sure you copy the exact structure from the zip file, don't move files around, which is what looks like what happened in your screenshot.

Download Oxide zip > stop server > extract Oxide zip > copy/move and overwrite all > done.

Keep in mind that running SteamCMD with validate will remove the modded game files and Oxide will not start. Only run SteamCMD when intending to update the game re-install Oxide.

Only problem I have with this is that it just encourages blind installing, so then users don't read the changelog and then cause more workload for us when they come asking questions as to why something changed, doesn't work, etc. after updating.

  5. I understand. I never thought of it like that. How about if I added a link or a window to it showing the changelog?

That'd probably be best. Could could pull in the RSS feed for that thread too if you wanted to, but I'd definitely add a brief notice of some sort to read the changelog first and to make sure that a compatible build was released before trying to install it. Installing an incompatible build could cause various amounts of damage because of multiple Rust versions being smashed together, which could be just errors or more severe side effects such as corrupted saves.

  7. Thats not a bad idea. I could add a live RSS feed to it. I submitted this as a resource a few minutes ago. Mind removing that? I want to add some stuff to it and make sure what you said is added. You might want to give permission so that people can use the rss feed. I can't seem to find the link to it like on other xenforo forums or I'm just blind.

EDIT: Will this do? http://oxidemod.org/index.php?forums/whats-new.68/index.rss (Of course I'll manipulate it so that it has some style to it)

I believe 0x202 indicates lack of disk space.

  10. Oh, yeah I only had 568 MB left. Thanks
