hello, my friend started a new modded server.
when i try to connect, and it gets to the loading part, receiving data,
it just kicks me out and puts me back to main menu.
then it says connection failed, timed out.
what can i do or what can my friend do to fix this?
thank you!
Friend can't connect to my server, times out

Does your friend see any connection attempts in the server console/log? If not, then it sounds like the server is not publicly accessible, ie. the ports are not forwarded with your router.
-
yes, a couple attempts by a couple of people he doesnt know. and even from me.
i can see his server on the servers list -

Check if you can update your server and oxide, could also cause a connection failing. -
updated both. and i can connect, so that is also not a issue

we found the problem. we were on the same internet. when i try to connect on his phones internet, i can connect.
how can i change ip? -
If you were NOT connected to his local network, you have to use his external IP and he need so have his port forwarded.
If you were connected to his local network, you can just use his pc IP.
Why do you want to change your IP? Changing your own PC's IP won't help you joining the server. -
im now connected with his 3g internet on his Phone. he shares his Phone internet with my pc
