Fps.limit

Discussion in 'Rust Discussion' started by Хьюстон, Nov 29, 2015.

  1. What affects fps.limit? I noticed that if you make fps.limit 1000 increases the CPU load, and if you make fps.limit of 65, it is easier. Any feelings on the server itself does not change.

What exactlyis responsible for this team and does it make sense to put high fps?

Generally there's no reason for the fps.limit to be increased. Many servers run at 60fps, Rust's server is capped at 256fps by default. If you experience no issues at a lower FPS, there shouldn't be any reason to not use that to lower CPU usage.

  3. That is for the players is no difference at all? I noticed that if you do fps.limit 1, the words will slowly introduced into the console. That is fps console?

You are setting the server's FPS, not the client's FPS. Setting it too low will basically make your server useless.

  5. I made an fps.limit 10, the game has not changed, and the load on the CPU decreased.

I'm sure it will once you get players. I wouldn't do anything under 60, but I'd leave it at the default of 256.

  7. On my server is 40 players.
10 fps - everything is perfect.

  8. wulf you know why all Rust moded servers are with a fps drop out of the ordinary with my server clean map with 50 players starts to drop the fps server and noticed that other servers are having the same problem.

No, but I imagine chosen plugins and server hardware would play a part in that.

  10. hey how can i change the fps ? where is the file

It's a console command, fps.limit. You can add it to your startup or server.cfg too.

  12. ty i saw.
but i have just 56 fps now in the 20 people my server. 80 k entitites and
xeon 2.60 ghz cpu ,6 gb ram there is no error by the plugins whats wrong ?

    i wrote 512 and writecfg
    but nothings change :(

  13. That command changes the fps limit, not the fps.
The FPS are a rough indicator of the server's performance.

  14. my problem when i look the server cmd window i can see 50-60 fps with the 20 people.
whats wrong my host spef. is xeon 2.60 ghz and 6 gb ram 4k map and some plugins without errors
[DOUBLEPOST=1470922345][/DOUBLEPOST]my host fps when drop 20 or 22 come in lag :)

  15. Again, its FPS.LIMIT will not increase fps! If you have low fps you have something wrong in your HW or running some bullsh*t in backround, outdated plugins, too much plugins or even plugins that do same thing... also I assume its a VPS and if yes, then there is no sollution to incarase it, well there is - go for dedicated

Like said many many many times above (simply read it) its only to se tthe cap of max FPS on server that haves influence on it, running like 999 fps limit will increase CPU ussage of server, lowering it will decrease it but will not have any affect on actual fpc (again read that the command is called FPS.LIMIT )
