Ok, now here's a pain in the butt. It would potentially have many moving pieces.
A system IMPLEMENT currency. A system to GAIN the currency. A system to SPEND the currency.
All ideas to greatly help RP servers. And RoK in general.

Help create an economy through trading or the creation of a currency. Trade, buy/sell, donate. Could even be linked into the other request of a karma system.

My in-house Plugin developer is working on this Economy system. I'm not 100% sure he wants to make it a public download so soon though.

How about this:
A central hub where players can add their stock to a "shop" (be it an actual place, or just in chat) and has an interface where you can set the price, and players can go to buy this and have the choice of who to buy it from. Keeps the economy in the players hands

Hey guys, another one..
I would like to see a economy plugin so you got like 20 gold.
When this can be realised i would like to see that you can sell your hand (so without a player used or an pcn to sell to or a sign).
Beside that you need to be able to transfer money to a other player because then he can buy a sword or something.

Hey there,
i was thinking about a plugin that provides a basic economy system that creates an ingame currency , lets call them tokens for the moment. nothing fancy but it should have some key features
Have 2 Safe locations on the Map -Trader Town- and -Scrapyard-
They should be a no building area , and all weapons disabled
( i dont know how limited the options are right now, but is it even possible to create such things with these kind of restrictions ? )
At the Trader Town , there should be some kind of npc(?) or any kind of container that can take in players resources and recycle them and reward them with tokens
At the Scrapyard its basically the same as the trader town except it would need some kind of mechanic to reward the player with specific items they chose from like a list and pay with their tokens.
The other approach i was thinking about would be to take the materials directly from the players inventory and reward them instantly, like you would need 500 amber to get a powerful engine - this would be easier to program but would take away the "content/adventure" side of things when you acutally have to go places with the resources you farmed to generate tokens and furthermore when trading in those tokens for better items.
Additionally the system could have a system where players can set bounties on someone's head , and the killer would receive the bounty. And simple transfer system between players like /pay player amount X.
TL;DR
eco system that creates Tokens ; players turn in resources get rewarded tokens; can buy better items with tokens
