HiHi...
So, I run a heavily-modded server, and recently our FPS has just been TANKING. Like really really bad. 5 FPS sometimes... I suspect it may be a mod... but how can I diagnose which plugin is hogging resources?? Is there any commands or anything to see how plugins are using resources, or any way in which I might pinpoint where this low FPS is coming from??
Thanks a bundle. <3
Diagnosing low FPS

is your host Gameservers ?

yeah man what specs / plugins are you running? Are you on Dedicated or sharing resources?

Sadly I am on Gameservers, and it is a virtual box so I'm probably sharing some resources and stuff... Great price... not always the best performance.
But it has ran better before... In fact right now, compared to yesterday, it's running alright: 130-150 FPS. 390K entities. 3500 map. 7gb RAM (usually only uses 1-2gb)
I don't see anything in console when the FPS drops down to 5...
it was doing it yesterday when people were spawning in lots of airdrops? But it kept up with the low FPS even after the planes left...
do the airdrop packages themselves have a hit on performance separate from the plane event???
-- The other possible culprit with the airdrops is the botspawn plugin? it spawns in zombies when the airdrops come... and those stick around for awhile or until killed... would 30-60 AI cause that much FPS drop?
Other plugins include... well... a damn lot of them. xD
-- current count is 118...
And yeah, I know that's probably a lot for a 7gb ram gameservers virtual box... but it does run fine sometimes... it has ran fine before...
I am definitely looking into upgrading my server. What would the problem be here... CPU???
Thank you for the helpful replies.

Edit:: I noticed that it was 130-150FPS when no one was on... when I got on, it dipped down to 120, and sometimes dipped down to 90... Maybe it would be more if it was multipled by 5 to 10 people? (there were like 5-10 people on yesterday when it was dropping so low)... I can't really think of any plugins I have that would have a big effect just from a player being logged on though?Last edited by a moderator: Apr 2, 2018 -
the reason why I ask is because I used to use them and it did exactly that all the time it would run super smooth High FPS for weeks and then randomly started getting low FPS
I switched to streamline servers haven't had a problem since
