Dedicated server crashing

Evening folks,

We seem to have an ongoing issue with server crashes. I am not sure what is causing it but it seems to crash even after a fresh wipe/map and even trimmed down on plugins. Can anyone assist? Please let me know what you will require as i have the crash dump i could upload.

My rustadmin tool will crash then soon after the game play will freeze which results in an error message on the server "Rust has encountered an error and must close"

Are you hosting it on a server running Windows server 2012 R2 or 2016?

Running as admin as i have been doing since owning a dedi server. The crash hasnt happened at all since owning this dedi server. Just started happening 1/14 after applying the 2nd round of updates

 

Make sure its off, its caused my server to crash before.

[DOUBLEPOST=1516090733][/DOUBLEPOST]Also when i was running 2012 R2 my server was running fine in the start, but after a while it started to crash, not start, lag, etc... And the only fix for me was to upgrade to 2016.

 

Not enabled on my end but thanks for that detailed info. Im starting to think its plugin related or something else because none of this started until 1/14 which i have the crash logs. Just need someone to explain what that jibber means

Im not to good at reading jibberish but i found this line interresting "Write to location 3c111068 caused an access violation." Does the location of the server require any special privelidges to write to? Can you try to change location to your desktop or something?

 

No special privs needed as it runs on a dedicated SSD drive for rust. The desktop drive is spindle 7200 which is much slower than what i allocated for rust on the ssd

Yeah Wulf is dabomb with all the answers. Im also reading some threads where this could be hardware related such as memory issue. I will run a memtest on the server to see if something is up with that. Thanks for your help

That should be more than enough, do you have any programs or other game servers wich might take up much ram or cpu power?

 

nothing other than note+ running on it and i have Cerberus FTP agent used to allow other admins access to upload/download plugin/configs to the server rather than giving them RDP

 

Curious this line "D:\PGSRust20x\Server\rustds\RustDedicated.exe, run by Administrator." are you running the RustDedicated.exe or the rust_ds.bat file?

 

I run my server using a BAT file which loads the servers predefined config which is the same method for updating..ill post screen shots

 

Looks all good to me, you'll just have to wait for @Wulf or someone else that has a bit more compitense than me on this subject.
