DDoS attacks

  1. I've been getting DDoS'd almost every other day. It's quite frustrating. I plan on moving to another host with better protection soon, but the only one I can find in my price range is in Canada and I kind of want to keep it in the US. It's only a little north of where its currently hosted, so players ping won't be impacted all that much, I'm just wondering if the server being hosted in Canada will change the way it shows up to users in Rust when trying to find a server... like if a player is in the US do US servers display as a priority to them or is it strictly based on ping?

  2. As far as I know, the server list is characterized alphabetically and numerically with special strings included (I've seen server names with !{name} just to get on the top of the list), but what players see shouldn't really be affected too much since their ping should stay relatively the same but that is however based on your current location.
NFO has some good ddos protection, great support, but won't help much on an unmanaged VDS, that's my personal experience lol.
OVH has some great ddos protection, but lack of support from what I've heard.
