Solved Custom chat avatars

    Can someone make a plugin, which changes players gui avatar in the chat ? For example Admin can change players avatar for his bad behavior on the server :D For exampe command /avatar "player name" "url to image"

    Avatars in Rust are shown based on the Steam ID of the chat sender or specified Steam ID. I don't think there is a way to set it based on URL.

    You could use BetterChat or Chat Handler though. I will maybe add some support to change Avatars to Better Chat.

    That won't provide custom avatars like the OP is requesting.

    well it would work, but not using URLs. It would be using Steam Accounts of course.

    Right, which is next to impossible to manage without having a pile of accounts. It'd be easier to just change your own Steam avatar on your account. I think it'd be a useless feature to add honestly.

    I`l be very greatfull to you, if you intoduce this feature to the BetterChat :) It would be nice to be able to change player avatars by server administrator, for example for misbehavior, or to change the avatar for VIP Player, moderator, etc

    You'd have to have a bunch of spare accounts with avatars you'd want to use, along with their Steam IDs handy to use.

    - Set a default chat icon for users
    - Change some user's icon.
