1. I am used to operating a battlefield 4 server using procon as the server management tool, so this system is completely foreign to me.

    I currently have a 75 person server hosted with Gameservers.com and am using the RUSTY tool which has the ability to call airdrops only.

    Is there an interface that is used with these plugins? I watched a video about getting the plugins loaded into the server using ftp, but it was not very clearly explained so I am like a fish out of water.

    Any help would be appreciated or point me in the right direction.. thanks

  3. I followed the instructions to load the plugins into the oxide/plugins folder as described. I stopped the server, loaded the files, restarted the server and I don't seem to have it correct. I also noted that some of the plugins ended with .lua or .py or .cs is this correct?

    I also went to the config folder to see if the files were there ending with J so I am assuming I am not doing it correctly

    Wulf, I hate to ask but are you available on teamspeak 3? I am really trying to work on this before the wipe so my population doesn't lose their prints. I even took the day off work..lol
    [DOUBLEPOST=1425579586][/DOUBLEPOST]It may be in the way I am transferring the files by FTP. I will give you the specifications and see what I am doing wrong.

    I log into Gameservers.com and go to my info page. I stop the server and then I select the hyperlink URL for the FTP and I select open with fireftp which is the firefox ftp tool.

    When the FTP is open I can see the files on my PC on the left and the files on the game server on the right. I navigate the server files to reach the oxide/plugin folder and open it. I then navigate the PC files to reach the folder I have downloaded the plugins into. I highlight the wanted file and hit the arrow that moved the file to the server folder. I refresh the folders and it states that file has been saved. I then disconnect the FTP and restart the server.

    I log into rust and open the console. I type oxide.load finder and I get the error "invalid command: oxide.load finder.

    I relog into the FTP and check the config folder within oxide and it is empty. So I am assuming somewhere in my process I have missed a step

    Are you getting any errors in your server or Oxide logs? The Oxide logs can be found under server/yourserveridentity/oxide/logs.

    Plugin configs are all currently .json files, so what you are describing should be correct.

    On a side note, are you familiar with a problem where boxes that are sitting on the ground will disappear after a short time with all their contents? I have never had this problem on other persons servers

    I wasnt going to ask this till tomorrow but I just noticed you are still active on here so here it goes.

    After a full 24 hours of wrestling with Gameservers.com, they have completed a server wipe and installed C++. I then upload the back up files for the players which has worked, everyone still have their blueprints.

    First problem was that I cannot get any size map for 4000 to work. I tried for a couple hours and finally ended up going back to the 4000 map because my population was getting impatient.

    Secondly, i uploaded the plugins via FTP onto the server. I placed it in the oxide plugins folder as you instructed. I restarted the server but still had no active plugin. I looked at the logs and they show oxide loading and do not show an error. When i look into the plugin folder i still see them there, when i look into the config folder it is completely empty. None of the Json files there. Not sure what could be wrong.. Im ready to go back to eve online...sigh

    If your server doesn't have Oxide logs, then Oxide isn't installed. I'd recommend doing a re-install of it and checking the Rust logs for errors as well.
     
  11. oxide is installed. That is where i loaded the plugins.
    but i have selected every folder on the server and not found the location of where the json files are

    The config files are one folder up from where the plugins are, in the confg folder, unless your host put them somewhere else. If your server isn't loading Oxide, no config files will be made. I'd check your logs to verify that it is loading, or try using the version command in the console or RCON.

    Okay, but that doesn't show any installed plugins loading, so it sounds like they were put in the wrong folder.

    What plugins did you install? Are you sure you put it under your server's identity, or did you make one named exactly as shown above?

    That should be right. Are your sure your logs are current? It sounds like you may not have Oxide installed anymore.

    The keep point is Assembly-CSharp.dll. If your host updated your server, then it became unmodded and needs to have Oxide re-installed. You may see all the files unique to Oxide, but all are useless if your Assembly-CSharp.dll isn't modded.
