1. Keep in mind, I'm new to working with servers... With that being said, I'm extremely frustrated and I'm not sure what's going on.. I recently purchased a Rust Experimental server and tried to download Oxide 2.. Followed the instructions exactly the way they were laid out on the pinned topic. Now.. Whenever I try and open Rust, I can't see any servers except one that I have as a favorite. I cannot connect to that server or my own if I type in the IP from my admin panel. When I try and connect it says that it can't find my Steam Auth.. Although I double check and make sure that steam is up and running properly, etc.

I'm really not sure where to go from here... I just bought a server and I'm stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
[DOUBLEPOST=1434169868][/DOUBLEPOST]When I run "RustDedicated", I get the Oxide CMD that pops up, along with a rust server that shows me in the air with nothing but a textured blue/white screen.. Like I'm on top of mountains or something in the sky... Like I said, I'm new and just need some help with this.
[DOUBLEPOST=1434170021][/DOUBLEPOST]I can .noclip and see the water, roads, etc.. But where do I go from here?

For the Steam auth issue, restart Steam and then the client.

For the other issue, I'm not sure what you're doing, but it sounds like you've missed a few steps. RustDedicated.exe shouldn't be run directly, instead use a bat file like shown in the pinned topic you read on how to setup a server.

  3. Where is @echo off?
[DOUBLEPOST=1434172032][/DOUBLEPOST]I can connect to my server, but it's vanilla.. Without Oxide involved, from F1 Rust console with a different port than 28015.
[DOUBLEPOST=1434172162][/DOUBLEPOST]If I try and connect to 127.0.0.1:28015, it says there's no address. (Sorry I'm so green to this stuff... I really do appreciate the help.)

Do you see any errors in your logs? Could you provide me with some screenshots of what it all looks like?

  5. When I the RustDedicated Application File, it doesn't have any errors. It loads the textures, terrain, layouts, spawns animals, etc.

  6. "If I try and connect to 127.0.0.1:28015, it says there's no address"
I know what you are doing wrong probably..
Just open your console F1 and type (client.connect 127.0.0.1:28015) only with this way you can join also if it kicks you the you have like a LABEL that shows you two buttons Reconnect and cancel ? something like that.. if you press Reconnect it will say that there is no address.

  7. Yes, that's what's happening when I go to "client.connect 127.0.0.1:28015".
[DOUBLEPOST=1434237608,1434220533][/DOUBLEPOST]F1 and typing "client.connect 127.0.0.1:28015" gives me two options, "reconnect" and "cancel", when I try and reconnect, it says there's no address.

I decided to re-install Rust and practically start over. When I try to use force_install_dir <path>, the SteamCMD is downloading the information but afterwards, it won't be in the <path> I chose?

  8. u are doing something wrong :p there is no way that it installs to the wrong directory.. try "force_install_dir C:/RustServer" just this remember to make a folder earlier.

  9. I finally got "client.connect 127.0.0.1:28015" to work and now I'm trying to install these .lua, .cs, and .py plugins and I'm trying to learn as I go. Do you know what program I should use to upload them after download? Spent two days on this and I feel like I'm not even close... It's killing meeee...

  10. If you have TeamViewer i can help you :)

  11. Man.. I would appreciate it sooo much.. I just want to get this stuff down, I hate being ignorant about things. Lol.

    Do you have TeamSpeak?

  12. I think its better to help you there .. so other users can check this thread and learn so..
Your server is working properly with Oxide right ?
    If yes then:
    1. Go to yourserverfolder/server/my_server_identity/oxide/plugins and here put the plugins that you have downloaded its simple.
    More info: http://oxidemod.org/threads/installing-plugins-on-your-experimental-server.6307/

  13. Sounds good to me.

I can drag the downloaded file there, but I'm not sure what to do after that. I have the downloaded files there currently and there's no matching .json file in rustserver/server/my_server_identity/oxide/config.

  14. You must load the plugin by starting your server ;) and after they are loaded you will see the configs that you want

  15. Ok, I have all the .json files now.. (I'm terribly sorry for being such a pain but thank you so much for the help, thus far). Now.. When I run the .bat file, it brings up the OxideCMD, but no in-game screen. And if I open Rust and try and run "client.connect 127.0.0.1:28015" it says no address. I'm not sure where I'm stuck or if I did something wrong

  16. After you run the .bat you must wait for like 2-3 mins (Just to be sure) Wait untill it says "Server initialized"

  17. Yeah, I've been waiting for a while now and it still hasn't come up.. Although I'm still getting my .json files and it's downloading everything on OxideCMD seemingly properly.

  18. Now it's running as i see on your ss

  19. Alright, so I didn't know that I would have to start up Rust then connect to 127.0.0.1:28015... Beforehand, it was doing it automatically.. Lol. Now to attempt to set up my admin status and set up my plugins

  20. LoL xD
I remember these days when i had my server February 18th 2015 after 1 month Boom magic i'm Plugin Developer.. wtf
