Solved Auto update Oxide?

Discussion in 'Rust Discussion' started by Big Mamba, May 18, 2015.

  1. We are running our own dedicated server. When we update the server to the latest Rust update. It overwrites our oxide files so I have to manually install it back in. Is there a way to update rust, install latest oxide build, then launch server automatically.

You'd need to write a script that handles it. We'll eventually have an updater, but for right now a script is your best option.

  3. To be honest I'm a terrible scripter. Is it OK to post on the request plugin forum for a oxide updater script.

There's a few threads for it already actually. An extension and update system is planned, just not high on the list right now.

  5. Right now my friend is working on a .bat file that will update rust then copy the oxide files to the server then launch server. When a oxide update happens, we have to manually put the files into the update folder.
[DOUBLEPOST=1431973496,1431965441][/DOUBLEPOST]ok so we have a bat file that runs the rust update and then automatically copies the oxide files to the server. We then have a separate bat file that launches the server. On my game panel I can launch the update bat file then after 2 min, I have to press start server so it will run the launch bat file. Idk if anyone wants a simply way to update their server. If there is a oxide update, you have to manually put the new oxide file in the update folder then repeat steps.

  6. unzip to desktop then put these two files where your steamcmd is do edit the update text file and change the path

Please note this is for only those hosting from there own pc
This will not install oxide once done type quit in bat file window then install oxide to latest
