Solved Are automatic restarts recommended/necessary?

Are they necessary? I have not set up automatic timed restarts for a while, my server runs 24/7. Are restarts needed or can the server run for a week or two without issues?

 

Your server will most likely crash if it has not restarted for a while. I use firedaemonpro to ensure that my server gets back up during a crash, which it does most of the time. But I also restart my server every 4 hours so that it does not lag or anything else, think of it as a refresh. I still get amount 150+ players daily and it seems to be going good.

 

Ankawi, How do you have your auto restart setup? My new server hardware should be here this weekend and im going to be setting up a dedicated server and im wondering how to setup auto restart on scheduled restarts.

 

It seems like I am no longer required to use firedaemonpro, my start.bat just restarts itself after it restarts. Scheduled restarts you can use TimedExecute.
