Solved Anonymous admin / playermode

Hi, so as a server owner, I know that owning a server can sometimes be sad in a way where if you want to play legit and raid people's houses, you'll be considered as an admin abuser.

I want to be able to host arena events and be active in person with my server members while talking via console, yet I do not want them to be able to hover over me, see my name, and my steam profile.

I want to be anonymous to them so that I can play alongside them.

Can someone create a plugin where I can toggle anonymity on request, for example, /anon?

 

May be you already know this, but just in case I will tell. The NameChanger plugin worked great for this purpose, but since the new UI, people can click on your avatar anyhow, so I guess they need ro remake the plugin, or just create a new one that also hides your avatar (which is complicated, as not being able to click on it would be identifiable by the users when they get accostumed to the plugin, and THAT probably is the reason for still not having a working plugin for that purpose, and it needs to be sorted out, my idea being to be able to set up a "dummy" -1. An imitation of a real or original object, intended to be used as a practical substitute.- account for that purpose).

This plugin would allow an Admin to:

1. Drop all current permissions and roles (owner, admin, moderator) and pickup the server permissions for standard players.
2. Additionally, it would change the in-game player name of the admin to a desired name.
3. Of course the admin in player mode can switch back to admin mode and regain all permissions and his/her admin name
4. Reserves the Admins name when in player mode


For the sake of transparency

1. Notify server community in chat whenever a transition is made
2. Log all transitions between (admin -> player mode) and ( player -> admin mode)
3. Give ALL users the ability to see the log of transitions in the console screen using a chat command

I just use another account. I also have BetterChat setup so everyone including admins has the same color. Finally, I modified 1 line in notifier so admins are the same color as players and also configured it so it doesn't allow the /admins command.

There is basically no way a player can differentiate an admin from a player as far as I know... Of course I get called a hacker everytime I kill or raid someone cause my other account has low hours and only 1 game, but hey no solution is perfect.

 

I have actually created a plugin that allows people with permission to do /say "message", then when they do /say "message" It will deliver the message in chat as ADMIN :, which can also be edited. PM me if you are interested, I haven't submitted it yet, but unless @Wulf would like me to, I would call it Anonymous Admin or something like that. It basically lets an admin play as a normal person, being hidden, and answering questions anonymously in chat without his name being a different color.

 

Easy Broadcast?

 

It's a bit different than Easy Broadcast, Mine which I have submitted gives players the ability to change the title, title color, and the message color as well.

 

Its still the same since the author of the Easy Broadcast can add these features.

 

Laser's plugin is written in CS, and was created on June. Laser even helped me create this plugin with some of the codes since I couldn't get it to work in order. I don't know if he was going to add these features or not, but I just decided to do it in Lua since the last time it was updated was June. I would even maybe add more features later on to it.
