Not an Issue Trying to Install oxide

Discussion in 'Rust Discussion' started by Windows X, Nov 28, 2017.

  1. Whenever I download oxide from this website, I only get the RustDedicated_Data folder and nothing else. When I coying this into the server files it doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas?

Oxide is a mod, not the entire server. All that you need to install oxide is include in each .zip, the rest is from your default server install and setup. Make sure to overwrite ALL files included with the .zip, and if you are uploading via FTP make sure that you actually have permission to overwrite the files.

  3. so how do I know it is actually working?

You'll see the oxide folder created, the oxide.version and other core commands will work, you'll have chat commands, and if you're hosting locally you'll see a different console with Oxide information.
