Hey guys, I've been paying a server provider on a rather large machine for about 3-4 months now which has been okay but we've ran into some down time and other small issues and I would like just to finally make the swap to a dedicated server. Does anyone have any good recommendations as to where to start with that?

    Server requirements?
    Hoster?

NFO oversell their shared servers , therefor i wouldn't trust them IMO , ovh all day.

AWS dedicated hosts + reservation = cheap dedicated

I haven't seen any proof of this, NFO is one of the best if not the best game hosting provider.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think AWS has very good DDoS protection or the power to host a high pop server. Game DDoS protection is very different from the normal counterpart.

Yea, you do it yourself. There really is no DDoS protection without you configuring it
